CDOT Realtime Snow Plows
« on: January 31, 2016, 09:06:38 pm »
We are about to get a big snowstorm for the next 36-48 hours.
Colorado Department of Transportation has a new feature that shows the location, speed, direction of travel and more information on their fleet of snow plows.
As I type this there are 238 on the roads.
Click on a truck.
Geeky but cool.

I like that, we have something like that in Ontario (Canada) called track my plow. Pretty accurate too.

We don't get a lot of snow, thus we are not real good at removing it----2 wednesdays ago we got less than an inch which then turned to ice which caused major havoc on the roadways because we didn't pre-treat.

Then 2 days later we got a major (by our standards---20+ inches) blizzard.  We quickly got our act together and major roads were clear within 2 days.
