So basically bigger motor and/or bigger truck. If got a 1 ton long bed what would you consider to be a good motor trans combo?

th400, sm465 or 4l80e (only good trans with OD) for trans and 350 or bigger for motor. but gm put the inline 6 banger into 1 tons back in the 70s. but i wouldnt worry about getting a new truck just new axles and you might be $500-$700 into it and it will feel like a new truck
