700R transmission
« on: February 19, 2016, 04:23:48 pm »
Hello all! I have a 700R transmission with a 2800 stall that's having trouble getting into gear. I started it, backed it out the garage,  then back in. Waited a few minutes, started the truck again and now it will not get in gear. Transmission is full of fluid and not leaking. Any ideas on why it won't go into gear?

Thanks!

Is it a fresh rebuild?   Possible the linkage disconnected from the manual valve.

...or the link between the column and transmission is loose or separated?

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!

take the pressure line off at the cooler and get a bucket to catch the fluid -have a buddy start it up and see if you get good pressure - other than that the forward clutches are likely gone if has some miles on it
