Let some air outta your tires......
LoL.... Maybe I should clarify just a little bit. I KNOW I'll never have a Cadillac ride and that's not really even close to what I'm looking for. Heck, I'm not even expecting a Mini Van or sports car ride. I just want to soften it up from where it is now.I don't really even think it's the front end... but more so the back. Of course there isn't much weight there and the truck is a 3/4 ton. On some of the bumps I drive over daily, I really think the rear tires jump of of the ground (ok, maybe not). It's just a rough ride and I would like to make it a bit softer if I can.I like my taller truck. I get a lot of compliments on it and I love driving it. Heck, I'm very proud of it!!I'm not planning on going crazy with a custom suspension, but I'd like to raise it 2" taller. If I'm going to spend the money on that I'd like to get a 6" suspension lift package that includes all 4 springs, shocks etc...I know some companies are know better for their ride quality so I'd like to buy from them.Is there any reason I can't put 1/2 ton springs on a 3/4 ton truck? I'm guessing that would help the rear end a bit, where most of the roughness seems to be coming from. Here's what I believe I've read here on the forum and I'd appreciate your input:Better ride lift kits: SkyJackerMiddle of the road: Tuff Country and RanchoI have Rough Country now and it's rough alright... but again, I know it's a 3/4 ton truck with a 4" lift already. Thanks guys!!
I know some of you have done shackle flips but didn't I read that by doing that, it ends up moving the rear axle forward so it's no longer centered in the wheel opening? Also, if I did that, I'd still need new springs (since I want to get away from the 3/4 ton ones now). How do you know what springs to order if I want to end up matching the front 6" lift? It seems people talk about it adding around 4" but I'd hate for the truck to look not level with the front?
