I'm not talking slip on covers, I'm talking about replacement cover kits.

I think that bench looks great. AND those nice oem belts!! Just me talkin, but i would leave the belts and the seat alone. Unless you find oem tan belts with 3 point that fit. But i think we covered that.

Ya I'm gonna put 3 points in I know you don't want me too but it's gonna happen, but I'll keep my 2 points and my old seat, maybe the next owner will want them back in, I will keep my eyes out for some 3 point oem belts and scoop em up but until then I want my daily driver to be safe, at least safer

Yah, i understand safety. Cant mess with or argue about that. Safety trumps any agument or decision. Just send pics when it comes together.

Your bench does look great, but it would look even greater if it was new lol. It looks like you have no reason to recover it.

Well I'm keeping this one because I couldn't find a nicer one online(if you know where a nice one is let me know), and the only reason I'm talking about switching is because I'm putting this cover on a newer bench seat, sorry this is all kind of confusing

Oh I get ya. Your going to remove the upholstery and re install it on a newer model bench seat. That makes more sense now. I'll let ya know if I see anything. Sometimes you just have to poke around the Internet and talk to upholstery shops.

Ya you're on the right page now, question have any of you guys ever put a bench seat cover from a 1973-1979 truck on a 1980-1987 truck bench seat, that would be great if you knew how because that would save me a lot of money

I can't imagine it's that hard. The material is just held on with hog rings. You should be able to just snip or pull all the rings off, pull the cover off and then put it on the new seat. And since others have said the 80's seats are a little narrower than 70s seats, you should have a little looseness to work with to make it easier to install. You could then pull it tight when you put new hog rings on or pull it back off, add a little more padding to bring up the slack and add a little more comfort and then reinstall.

My upholstery guy took my seat from the first picture to the second for $400 plus another $200 to recover the dash. I did the steering wheel (79 corvette wheel)  and "horn button" myself. I'm really surprised I don't see people get the dash recovered, or maybe most upholstery places wont do it, but it turned out really good considering where it started (there's a few blemishes but nothing notable for a non show truck).

The seat looks very nice. What materials is it? Same for dash, is it leather? I like the French stitch on the dash.

The seat is a velour with vinyl center section, the Chevy logo is vinyl too. The dash is the same vinyl as the seat. It's a high quality vinyl and you can only really tell it's not real leather by feel. Not a show truck so real leather seemed pretty pointless for the extra cost when this vinyl looked so good.
