electric fuel pump, where to mount?

For those who have switched to electric pumps, where did you mount them?


As you know on 1/2 ton 2WD longbeds with single tank, the tank is mounted on the drivers side, then the lines crossover to the passenger side framerail.   i see a good spot on the passenger side framerail that is lower than tank level.    But is this too far away from the tank as electric pumps like to be as close as possible to the tank?   Or will there be enough fuel in the line before the pump that this won't be a problem?

That may get you in trouble.  I'd mount the pump on the LH frame rail and creatively route some beaded end hard lines with SAE J30R9 hose to couple it in.
Don't use Jubilee worm clamps on this size hose...
I'd use European Fuel Injection clamps, constant tension band clamps, or Oetiker "ear" Clamps on the hose ends. See posts #1 & #4 of my tech thread on hoses and clamps... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=696742

Wow.  Never realized worm clamps are also called "jubilee" clamps.

Anyways, looking at it again i can probably mount closer to the tank on the left frame rail AND below tank level.   But wondering if anyone had any pictures?
