New TV Show!

New TV Show!

Hey everyone,

I've been a member here for a few years as I'm a truck guy.  Love cars but I find it physically easier to get into a tall, lifted truck plus I simply like big trucks.

Anyway, I figured Chris and his team probably wouldn't mind if I shared this on his forum and if it's not cool, feel free to move it to the Moderator's forum.

That all said, we have a brand new TV show and it premieres on Velocity Channel tonight at 7:30pm Eastern Time.  There won't be any trucks on the first season but I figure most guys that are into trucks are also into cars.

Anyway, if you feel like it... check it out.

We're having a Premiere Party here at Autogeek that starts in about one hour so I have to get out to the garage and help set-up.  Wayne Carini from "Chasing Classic Cars" flew down from Connecticut to be my special guest so need to play host too...

Cool, wish I had cable TV.  Best of luck, maybe I can catch it sometime in a motel when I frequently travel...

I've been to and worked at Wayne's shop a few times.  He's great to work with.  It was super nice of him to fly down to Stuart and attend our premeire party.  We also shot some new TV commercials  with Wayne that you'll see running on Vellocity.  I borrowed a couple of GM cars from some buddys for the commercials.

Ok, first off i am IN NO WAY trying flame anyone here.  In fact, congratulations ( i think?).

But could you please concentrate on technical details rather than, paint, women, music, chrome etc?

For example, a hot topic today is LS swaps.  Why not show step-by-step even if it takes several episodes rather than gloss over with distracting music (which usually is not even good to begin with.....)

i do not think ratings will suffer.  In fact i think ratings will be just as good if not better this way.

i am begging here.

Thank you for listening.

Mike, congratulations on your new show!

Stewart, have you ever considered taking an organized curriculum of auto shop courses at your local community college?  It will fill in many blanks for you providing answers to questions you don't even realize you have, offer you a controlled environment to work on projects, provide an environment in which you can learn from classmates and their projects, and make special tools available to which you otherwise may not have access, providing broader experience in application.

Stewart, there comes a point in time where you have to learn how to do things by following general guidelines or instructions. What do you think mechanics do? If they are educated, they apply the fundamentals of what they've learned and know and they figure it out. I would certainly lose my interest in seconds if I had to watch a TV show that tells me how to pick up a wrench, turn the nut to the left with a 13mm wrench etc. Those are called instructions not entertainment.
