Front Bumper
« on: June 04, 2016, 12:05:29 pm »
I got to design a front bumper at work, and had it test fitted. Finishing up some welding, than paint, it will be semi perminant, until I get a winch and complete modifications and most likely powder coat. Would love to hear some opinions.

Thinks it's tall and hangs a little low, I would have made the face only as tall as the "D" brackets, and maybe angle the bottom a little more. Just my 2 cents. Otherwise I do like the overall design

I like it as is. If you build another one I'll put it on my monster truck. Definitely has that boss appeal.

one good thing about building a custom bumper it will apeal to some and not to others. i like the design of it need more pictures to see the true fit. so far it does seam like a good bumper that will protect the truck

This could be a great bumper for the states that measure bumper height as a way to regulate lift kit laws.
Forum member Mike Phillips recently got pulled over in Florida for a bumper height violation.
This bumper (with a matching rear bumper) could be an attractive solution to the problem.

The truck is lifted 8", so I was going for a big bumper. I plan on adding a winch into the bumper, so you would only see the rollers on the bumper. I didn't use the original brackets either, it's now bolted straight to the frame via 1/2" plates. Once I get the finished product I will share more photos. I was pretty close on my measurements.

I don't know, it had some weight for sure! But with two people lining it up, it wasn't to bad at all, I'd say around 80 pounds, if I had to take a guess. But it was missing the light brackets and lights, as well as two small panels. So when complete it might be around 100ish? It's all 10 guage steel
