My 86 K20 has the original radio still in it, but doesn't work for whatever reason. Fuse is good, but I can't even get any static, so it's either not getting power or just broke. Either way, I'd like a radio that works and that could potentially be hooked up to a phone, CD player, MP3, etc.... Has anyone used the retro sound radios, that look factory'ish or anything similar? Has anyone refurbished and/or done an Aux chord mod on a stock unit? I DO NOT want to cut a hole in it and put a new style radio in there. This truck was bought new by my Grandpa, I'm the second owner, so it's got a lot of sentimental value to me. It's a solid, virtually unmolested truck. All I've done is replace basic parts and swapped a 350 in it. The body is solid with very few rust holes (biggest size of a quarter) and all the stock grill and interior is in it. SOOO I insist on keeping the factory look. What's my best option? Thanks

My buddy bought a retro sound radio, he loves it, it looks very nice, works great, he's got it paired up with a custom built, full stereo system. I fully agree with you on not cutting the dash up. Whoever had my truck before cut the dash out and that really tans my hide. I'd go with the retro sound.

Thanks for the feedback. I looked on the net and it really seems like the best option. You can even get custom knobs OR factory lookalikes. So I'll probably start saving my $ and get one in the near future. Maybe talk my wife into getting me one as a gift.

In the mean time maybe I'll try to figure out this old radio, just so u can hear some tunes while I cruise around in Papaws old farm truck.

There is a lot of good info there. I went with the Retro Sound 2 and like it a lot.
