Custom wood trim

Hello I am going to do a little write up on how I made new dash trim out of real wood for my truck, my old trim was pretty junky it had holes and scratches in it, and the color of the wood started to get a greenish tint from being cooked in a truck for 42 years so I decided I wanted to buy a new one but I couldn't find that specific trim piece for a 1975 chevy k20, there may be one on eBay but I didn't see one at the time so I just decided to build one at my high school wood shop, I cut out the correct size so that it fit the dash, then I routered the trim so it kind of matched the old one, and stained it and finally mounted it with screws from the backside of the dashpad and to my surprise I thought it turned out good. Mine didn't come with a dash bezel because it was only a custom deluxe(great name for the base model chevy), but maybe I'll try to find what they look like online and I can build a dash trim and the door trim

and the best part is the awesome donuts it does

How would you go about making the dash trim because it is such an odd shape. I don't know how I would get the sides to bend out other than making three pieces and then glueing them together

Right but that gives you the perfect template for an overlay. I had a vendor who makes them, not sure if he still does but they were really nice. Had a set on my 84 K5

I'll be your friend but my barstool doesn't do that good of burnouts.  Our 1965 chevy impala with an ls3 and a hot cam does though

I know it's oak, I don't know much else after that, it is a little bit over 1/4 inch thick and when I placed it in the correct spot, my dash was kind of bowed in near the middle which made the middle of part of the wood stick out so I drilled through the middle of the dash pad part of the dash and put to screws in and it is slightly spring loaded so it held it in very well
