Tbi on mild engine

Had a quick question i have read what i could find on the subject but still not shure i have a 1987 k10 with tbi 350 700r4 trans before i bought the truck i was building a motor that is now siting in garage waiting to go in somthing it is a 350 bored 40 over with flat top pistons it has vortec heads and a comp extreme energy xe268 cam my question is with tbi work with this engine can i get a chip burned to make it work thanks

i want to know about this. cause the tbi requires vac pressure for the map sensor and the cam might effect it. if you do email the guy post your results, please

You cannot just slap a performance cam in there with overlap and high duration on a TBI setup.  There are parameters you have to stay in.  Typically a 268 cam should be fine but it should say not computer compatible or something like that about TBI...

Ok thanks this motor was built with the intension of buying a car to put it in but i came acrossed this truck and love it i would like to stay away from carb and stick with with fuel injection ill emai the guys at tci chips and see what he can work out for me if its gona be to much work have you guys had any experiance with the fi tech efi

There is a limit on how low the vacuum can get. Brian has a recommended cams list on the website. If your cam doesn't have enough vacuum you'd just have to pick a different one. We have some of his stuff in my daughters 87. The TBI is really simple, I'd keep it.

Ya it does seem pritty simple cant wait to start on the swap how well is the 700 r4 trans go a hold up to the extra power it is stock
