Source for OEM vacuum lines?
« on: February 03, 2017, 02:31:56 pm »
I just recently replaced my MAP sensor and EGR Valve on my '87, but snapped the thin, brittle plastic line in between the two rubber hose fittings on each of those vac lines.  The EGR vacuum hose appears to have a small check valve ball inside the rubber boot that attaches to the EGR valve.  I temporarily mended the two lines but would like to replace them.  Can I just use a small section of rubber vacuum hose for each of those lines, or do I need to go OEM?  If so, I've had a heck of a time trying to find OEM.  Anyone have a good source for those?   competitor turned up nothing, alson with a Google search.

TIA

You can buy vacuum and emissions hoses at the auto parts store. No need to buy the plastic ones.

So the check valve isn't necessary?  Cool...thanks!

If interested in the hard plastic vacuum lines,i went to Napa and found out they have it..different sizes at that. I had a hard time myself lookin online and was about to give up. Go figure...it's always the last place you look!lol. The line itself, comes on a spool and is cut to the desired length you want and is pretty cheap. It has light green stenciling on it that can be wiped off with a wet rag easily,if you want more of an oem/factory look to it. Once I wiped the stenciling off,I heated and bent it to the shape I wanted and hooked them up. I can't tell the difference between the factory ones and the ones I put on,except for the factory ones looked a little more faded
