4l80 electronic controller ?

4l80 it have the computer to control it ,or ECM control ?if it had can you location it in vehicle.i know i ask funny,i hope your guys help because i do not  want see my truck die in weather

you have to have a tcu (transmission control unit) or ecm that came with the 4l80e. again the 4l80e only came out in 91 and could have a 350, 454 or diesel. you could find a whole unit and pull the ecm wiring and tbi engine

but if i get 4l80 transmission 4x4 only,and i set up 4l80e with ls 6.0 gm vortec(eng come with ecm,factory harness,i will send ls ecm for they reprogram...and the harness i will send for someone re wire for me)so will  they work together .

dont know for sure. if the 6.0 came with the 4l80e then the speed sensor is the only thing i think you should have to worry about (besides a reprogram) i cant honestly tell you for sure best thing would be to talk to someone who programs these things. the main issue that i can think of is the output speed sensor on the transfer case.

If the donor harness was for a 80E it will work as all the wires are there.
