Cab and front clip questions

I have a 1983 chevy cab that is COMPLETELY rust free, and i would like to put that cab on my 1977 frame. Now i know that the cab will fit on the frame. And all 73-87 cabs essentually were the same except they changed the hood mounting and front clip in 81. My question is, can you install a 77 front clip on a 1983 cab. Has anyone ever attempted? I would would really like to use the 1977 front clip because i belive it is a better looking front end. If anyone has done this can you please give me the low down on how you did it.

The front clip will bolt up with no problems. You will need all of the windshield wiper stuff and the motor. The safety pins to keep the hood from coming thru the windshield in a collision should be exactly were the hinge holes are on the new cab. I made a plate with a pin sticking up for this.

I have 2 cabs laying around pre 1981 so i have all the parts for the wipers and such... but the 1981 and up have different hood hinges... can i just remove them and use the spring hinges that mount on the fenders and remove the cowl and swap out windshield wipers? and pre 1981 inner fenders and outer fenders will bolt right up to the cab?

Yes you will need to use the fender mounted hood hinges. The inner and outer fenders will bolt up to the cab.
The wiper drives mounting holes are off a little bit. One of them lines up but you will need to redrill two of the holes on each side.

Pugsy this plate is it near the door hinge or hood hinge ? Do you have a pic ?

I pulled a newbie and ruined my cab found a donor truck but its a 84 and I have the whole front for my 76
