Hi! So I have ran into a problem and hoping somebody can help me. I have a 73 GMC, 4x4, heavy half, 350, with the SM465, 4 speed, NP205 combo. I am replacing my clutch and while doing this had the grand idea to change my top cover transmission gasket since it was leaking. So i pulled the cover off with no issues, and went to put the cover back on (yes, half way in reverse) and i must not have had the shifter locked in properly because while puting it on it slipped all the way in reverse and as i tried putting it halfway into reverse my shifter pulled out. So, now im not sure what gear my tranny is in and or what gear my transmission forks are in and my shifter is out. I have tried puting the shifter back in, it feels like its in but it wont move my forks. I am beyond lost here, does anybody have any ideas on how to put the forks back into my neutral position so i can place the shifter back in? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
