how do i measure pinion angle for shims?

i asked on fullsizechevy.com with no response...maybe someone here can help out.
one thing i noticed though, is it only vibrates if i accelerate slowly, not at a faster than normal speed

I think you're more interested in the drive shaft angle. They can be checked with an inclinometer. Does this site help?

Put an angle finder on the output shaft yoke and take a reading and them put it on the rearend input shaft and take a reading. Technically they should be the same.
The reading for the pinion angle should be between 1 and 4 degrees down from the driveshaft. Optimumly it should be 3-4 for a leaf setup.
