efi conversion kit

i have a 79 chevy 4x4, 6" lift, 33" tires, 350/350.  im interested in getting a efi multiport conversion kit from edelbrock or holley. i would like to know all of your input, likes/dislikes, pics, stuff like that. im not worried about smog. thanks in advance.

I all so have concider this conversion but to me its way to much money. I think they were 2,500 bucks. For me I looked at what you getting for the money and I just don't see the gain in performance with regards to cost. I think tbi is a better way to go for the money. I Would ask your self what you are try to get out of the change. If is just a better runing truck with a little performance then to me tbi is the way to go. but if you look for some thing else then to me is maybe worth the money. Heck I think you could get a blower or a turbo  for the same money.

Hmmm, I never price them out! only because I didn't think it would make a good truck set up for pulling. or off road. mabe for a street truck would work just fine.

The tuned port would be awesome in a pulling truck.  They make TONS of torque.  they do give out around 4800-5000 though.  I have one I am working on (put on hold til the 6.0L truck is finished...)

I have TPI on my '73 Super Cheyenne and LOVE it.

You should be able to buy all the 'stuff' for around 700~1000.  

TPI has GREAT torqe for pulling or getting heavy trucks off the line.
I ran the original Q-Jet carb for 31 years then replace the complete intake system with TPI.
There's Noooooo comparison with the way it runs now.

Go with TPI and you'll NEVER look back at a carb. again.

As RoundedLine stated, a stock TPI is all over around 5,000 RPM.
But so is my camshaft and valvetrain and the rest of my engine components.  LOL.......So it matches up pretty nice to mostly stock street engines.
