250 inline
« on: May 02, 2006, 03:01:00 PM »
Well, I put the 78 I bought for 200$ back together and realized it ran really good. I decided i'm going to put it on the road untill I fix my 4x4. I have a question though, about the manifold on the 250 inline. The bolts that holds the manifold to the head, where can I get one of them with the piece on it? The piece looks sort of ovalish that keeps the manifold tight back against. I have some on it, that came with the motor (the manifold was removed when I got the truck) but I still have a slight leak and i'm sure another one of those are the reason. It has the bolt, but it's missing the piece. Anyone know what they're called, and where I could get one?

Thanks

I'm not too sure exactly what your talking about, but it sounds like it could be your EGR valve mounting pad.

It's not Egr, the bolts goes through the pieces. Their are multiple ones. Some short (inch and a half), some long (3 inchs?).

You are talking about the basically U shape pieces that go between each intake/exhaust port correct.  They are used to retain the intake/exhaust at the same time.  If you are missing any, you will have a leak.

Bad thing is, I don't have a clue where to get any...
