I'm wanting to get a mild cam for my truck. I like the Comp XE268H cause its noticable idle and good power, and its single pattern. My 350 is pretty much stock. I have an Edelbrock performer intake and headers with tru dual flowmasters. Single or dual pattern?

Are you talking about lobe lift on the cam? You need to provide more information on your engine and drivetrain if you want a suggested camshaft profile.

Well I am talking about getting a CAMSHAFT. So yeah...lobe lift...Would it be better to have a dual pattern(more lift on the exhaust side) or a single pattern(equal intake and exhuast lift)?
basically I just need to know what would be better for my setup...(stock heads,ect..)

If your engine is stock and you are running a dual plane intake with headers and I am going to just guess you have an auto trans with a stock converter and that your goal is a noticeable idle you will want a camshaft with unequal lobe lift on the intake and exhaust. Here is a good cam but I wouldn't go any bigger.

And I have used summit cams and I have used Edelbrock cams, crane cams, competition cams, and clevite cams. Every single summit cam I have ever used degreed in perfect! The last edelbrock cam I used was 8°s retarded. So don't judge their store brand cams on price I've had better luck with the summit cams believe it or not.

Yeah, I've purchased some Summit brand stuff and I've never been disappointed. They're products are pretty good and cheap.

Stock motors love the dual pattern cams.....especially more lift on the exhaust side. The 268 cam is a great cam....I agree, just because the cam says Summit Racing on it doesn't mean it's junk. Most of the time they just stick their name on someone else's products.

Ive had pretty good luck with comp and claimer type cams. I got a 280h comp cam in my pickup. Its alittle sluggish on take off but i was looking for power in the mid to higher band. This cam is good for pulling, back country roads, and highways. You can usually call summit or any company and give them specs of the vehicle and what you are looking for and they can usually point you in the right direction.
