1985 C30 TH400 transmission mount
« on: June 15, 2020, 10:06:18 PM »
I am trying to figure out what transmission mount I need.  With no one having these in stock to match up I fear ordering more of the same.  Pictured is the comparisons of mine top to the one sent me with part #2513 which is what everyone says it is supposed to be.

Try original GM 9767699 (Parts Group 4.081) or equivalent.  Although it crosses to the aftermarket 2513, the bolt spacing appears wider on the OE mount.

Carl, check the edited post.  The aftermarket crosses to 2513, but it looks to me like there is an error.

I first put in an offer than I retracted it.  I sent the seller my pictures and asked that he measure it.  Autozone and others refer to 2513.  At least it doesn't fit mine...  Had a perfect cool night and I was planning on buttoning it up so I can get it back on the road after over a year up on ramps.  Oh well, there is a reason (my wife reminds me) that I got the wrong one... Still frustrating

I spent several hours looking into this situation.  The only thing I can figure is that there are two types.  One is 3.75" center to center and the other is 4.25".  I messaged several vendors and the only one that messaged me back and actually took the time to measure it for me got the sale.  Anchor 2513 measures 4.25".  The one I returned, although it referenced Anchor 2513 in the auction and it was stamped 2513 made in the USA this one was 3.75" and slightly offset.  Both mentions the GM 9767699.  I also saw 3 different Anchor 2513, 1 made in Thailand, 1 in China and 1 in India....

Scratching my head on this one.....

The dimensional inconsistency between the OEM 9767699 and aftermarket 2513 has persisted since the 1980s, at least.  The 9767699 is a common mount for the M40 transmission, so the aftermarket continues to haunt the uninitiated with its non sequitur substitution.  Go figure....
