Newbie: Clutch Question
« on: February 05, 2007, 01:59:00 pm »
I just finished working on my 1978 Chevy, 350, 4-in susp. lift, 35-in tires.  Color is Grabber Orange (new mustang color), with black accents.

My question is:  When I let out the clutch (three speed transmission, with the low gear) it seems to "hop".  The wheels are not slipping, so it must be something with the transmission.  Any thoughts?

Also, how do I attach a picture to my message?  Can I upload the picture?

Welcome...

1st) If your clutch is grabbing hard check the linkage adjustment. A 1/2" freeplay is good. If you slip in the clutch easy does it seem smoother? Check transfer case mounts.

2nd) Use www.photobucket.com to host your images

Here is a picture of the truck-  Hopefully this works..

The clutch does not grab hard when I let the clutch out.  I let the clutch out slowly and it just feels like it is "hopping".  I will check the linkage.
