Dash brake light
«

Hello, I have a new issue.
My dash brake light is stuck on even while in drive. I have depressed the emergency brake and released several times but it doesn't go out. I have checked the fluid level and it is fine. Every once in a GREAT while, it will go out. Today I ran a couple of errands and drove for over an hour and the light stayed on. Any suggestions/thoughts?

Is there any pattern as to when the brake warning lamp extinguishes? Unplug the tan/wht wire from the brake combination valve to see whether the brake warning lamp goes off and remains off.

No, no pattern. I assume the brake combination valve is under the hood? I will try that tomorrow.
**I found an explanation as to where it is. I will try that tomorrow**

The brake combination valve is a roughly 2.5" x 5" x 1" brass block that has 5 brake lines running to it and a single-pin switch that connects to the tan/wht wire for the brake warning lamp.

There is a connector for it near the steering box. Just unplug it there.

Thanks. So I do not need to shimmy under the truck. Nice. I am so afraid I will break it when I unplug it because EVERYTHING is old on this truck. Wish me luck.
