73-87 Extended Cabs?
« on: December 28, 2006, 12:42:00 pm »
What year was the extended cab offered for this body style?  Now before you label me as a crackpot, I can say with true confidence that I have seen one.  I've been messing around with cars and trucks for over twenty-five years, so I know what I saw.  Believe me, I did a double-take and said "WTH?" when I saw it.  A farmer passed me in a brown extended cab "rounded style" truck in western Oklahoma one day while I was going home with an S10 in tow.  I wanted to follow him to get a closer look and possibly buy it, but he went straight when I had to turn.  I haven't seen it or another one since.

Here is one that sits out close to where I live.

I am guessing by your user mane you have a Hemi GTX. I had a 70 440 Road Runner back about 7 years ago.

From what I have seen and researched, generally the years they were made were 84-86.

There is one here in Iowa the guy has been trying to sell it's yellow w/custom graphics, lowered it's a 1987 model. It's a sharp truck I'll have to get pics of it at the next car show...

I spied this today in a "salvage" yard here in Colorado.  Sorry for the bad camera phone picture. They were closed and this is all the closer I could get.

Interesting.  an extended cab crew cab.  How would one label that RPO? (ECCC, LWB, DRW)
