the red rocker with a body kit?!
« on: December 30, 2006, 03:57:00 pm »
i'm sure most of you are familiar with the red rocker, if not there's a picture of it below. but the point of this thread is, i thought i remember seeing it in street trucks not long ago with...a body kit. i hope i'm just imagining things, but if i'm not, does anyone have pictures of it with it?

No Mr. 80 you are not losing it.
However I am so confused.

Find the January issue of Street trucks magazine and look at the first few pages.
There is an article all abut the guy that used to own it and how he is selling it to make room for his new baby or whatever. (Jeez give me a break)
Any-how. The larger photo shows the truck before the body kit, and in the smaller photo it clearly shows it with a body kit on it.
I followed the buildup of this truck and read several articles on it as it was being built. I even saw it for sale and at the time the current bid was like 38,000 I never did see what it actually sold for.
The photo in Street Trucks was the first time I had seen it with the body kit on it.

Personaly I like it without the body kit.
OK let the flames begin. I've got Nomex undies on.

ok cool thanks, i knew i had seen it but i lost the magazine amongst my collection of 60 or so different truck magazines. yea i remember back when they were first starting the build up on it, then the completed truck was just amazing. it's so much nicer in person too. i remember when i was for sale too, they even had it in the arizona truck trader! then i saw that article with the body kit and my jaw just dropped...what a sad sad ending...

Travis Novak from Truckin' Mag owned it.  Hills Hot Rods in Texas built it.

truckin', streettrucks, it's all the same :rollin

cool hills hot rods related story...

at my school, we had guest speakers from auto air colors come in. i jumped on the chance to talk to them, plus i was class president so it was kinda my responsibility. i couldn't remember at the time if they were indeed the paint used by jason hill, so i asked one of the guys about it. sure enough it was, and this guy was good friends with jason. we got to talking about jason, the trucks he puts out, and my truck. i guess jason is gonna be building this guy a square body pretty soon, it may have already happened as this was over a year ago. anyways, later on i was mixing some primer and the guy came over to me and handed me a red hat and said "here, you can have this", then i turned it and looked at it and it had the Hill's Hot Rod's logo on it!
