Hello - my name is Michel.  I'm married to my Beautiful Wife and we have three children.  I'm in North Texas.  I work for a local Fire Dept.  I have a '73 Truck that has tons of history behind it.  My Dad and I picked up this Truck in Dec. '72.  It served the family well for many years.  Then developed a slipping transmission and was put in a barn for a while.  So far all I've done is install tires, wheels, fuel pump and carb.  I still need to get the tranny rebuilt and do a brake job.  I can hardly wait to get this classic back on the road. :rollin

Hi, my name is Bryan, I'm from Marietta, Ohio.  I'm 40 years old (soon to be 41).  I'm married, have two girls, ages 3 and 7 months.  I own an 85 Scottsdale 4x4 with a crate 350 and a 650cfm(I think) Edelbrock carb.  The power windows and a/c still work!  I originally bought the truck because I needed a work truck while I was building my house, not sure I wanna build another house, but it was a great learning experience (I had help from a real builder so I wouldn't mess anything up:D )  I was going to get rid of the truck after the house was done, but I've needed it every so often for some chores so I decided to keep it.  I've kind of fallen in love with the truck anyway.  I'm originally a suburbs boy but have found that living in the sticks like a country boy is my true fit.  Even my family members joke around and say that they always knew the country was my element.

I'm currently going to college full time, when I get time, I help my father in law out with his business.

The other vehicles we own are a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, and yes I do take it off road, that's the first thing I did when I bought it.  I took it down a real rough logging road when it had just started raining.  People thought I was nuts, but I told them "that's what four wheel drive is for!".  Also have a 93 VW Passat (it's a mileage thing) and have an 82 GoldWing.  I spend most of the time in the summer cutting grass (3.5) acres.  In the winter I spend most of my free time pulling friends and family members out of ditches on these country roads:lol

Hey, everyone.  I'm Aaron from Canton, Michigan.  I am 21 this sunday, am going to school for mechanical engineering, and play in a couple bands.  My current truck-of-choice is a 1978 C10 Silverado that I bought last summer (to replace a ford...)  I've got a '30-over 350 in it, with a 3/4 cam, forged pistons and crank, aluminum intake, 650cfm holley 4160, 4 core aluminum radiator, Walker longtube headers breathing through dual glasspacks, lots of engine chrome, a 2500rpm stall, BUILT t-350 with a B&M shift kit, NASCAR truck shocks, 3/4 ton rear springs, 4 new B&F A/T's, new windshield/rear glass, new driver door (jap door, but it works), and just re-painted in original colors (seafoam green and hunter green).  Hahaha, the interior:  all original and falling apart, smells like smoke, too.  Stereo: am/fm CASSETTE with one speaker in the passenger door and two behind the bench, hahaha.  But I dont really care; I didnt put all that time and money into my ENGINE to listen to a radio...if you know what I mean.
Thanks!

Hello all!
sounds like a perfect title for a newbie.
My name is Lee and i live up in Central Maine.  I am on my second GM pickup.  my other one was a 87 1/2 ton 4x4 GMC which i just replaced with a 1987 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup.  wanted something a bit bigger to haul the boat and the old 305 wasnt cutting it.  The 350, TH400 and 4.10 gears make a heck of a difference (gas gauge too..lol).  the 305, 3.08 gears and 700R4 tranny sucked..
i also have a 96 Z28 with a 383 motor i built and on my second upgrade of the tranny.  next summer, putting in a T56.
havent had this truck for two weeks yet and i already have purchased the Edelbrock intake/cam/lifters package and a new bigger Holly throttle body.:eek
I have cabin fever big time.  cant wait to hit the lakes again and do some fishing.  doesnt even matter if i catch anything..just ready to hit it!
anyways.  looks like a great board.  i ll post often..
thanks.
Lee

What's going on...My name is Brett age 26 married with 2 kids. I am from Kansas City, KS. I sell aftermarket parts to bring in the money. I am looking around to find a community where I can talk to people about these trucks, ask questions, hopefully answer a few and learn more about them. I have a '86 Chevy C10, lowered with a roll pan. The computer has been eliminated, 350 mall block fully carburated, electric fans, HD radiator and a TH350 with a shift kit, other performance soon to come. It was damaged on the passenger side, fender, door and bedside and needs new cab corners, when I bought last year, but other than that it's pretty straight. I plan on fixing the body, shaving a little bit and give it a two tone, black on top and red on bottom. I look forward to discussing this stuff with you all. Thanks for being here!

Hi; My name is Dave. I'm 26 and I just got out of the Marine Corps this april after about 8 years of service. I was stationed in North Carolina and now reside in a little town called New Holland in Pennsylvania. I'm a single man with no kids that will probably be single for years to come due to my inability to tolerate women that try to manipulate and control. LOL.... :)  Anyway; I used to have a 77 C30 Crew Cab dually which had a dump truck 366 big block, sm 465, and a 4.10 geared dana 70 rear. I had a 86 k30 Crew Cab Dually with a hd350, sm465, NP205, 4.10 Geared dana 70 rear and dana 60 front. I had a 70 custom camper 20 with a 350 engine/375 tranny. And I've had my slough of cars to from a 67 Grand Prix with a 400 pontiac engine/Turbo 400 tranny, 85 Regal with 231v6/Metric 200 transmission, 83 grand prix with 350 chevy/350 tranny, 84 Grand Wagoneer with 360amc/torqueflight727 tranny, 89 rally sport camaro with 305tbi/turbo 700r4, 89 GTA Trans Am with HO350TPI/Turbo 700R4. Now I have a 84 Mistique Red Trans Am with 305LG4(Being evicted soon!) with heavily modified 700r4 tranny. I also have a 85 GMC 2wd 3/4 ton suburban with a HD 350 and turbo 400 tranny. I plan on converting it to 4wd in the next 6 months.

I am open for chat. My Yahoo Screenname is: Davidmb1978

Respectfully,
Dave

Hi my name is Andy.  I'm a youngin' at 16 years old.  I've got a 1985 Chevy 1/2 ton.  Within a week or so it'll be huggar orange with some savvy flat-black designs similar to those famous "c" shapes  on the side of muscle cars.  If you haven't already noticed I'm a huge muscle car guy.  My dad and I also worked on and own a 1980 Pontiac Trans Am.  It's canary yellow with camel tan interior.  My truck is a constant work-in-progrss and we'll be doing lots of cool things to it, including but not limited to: glasspacks and angled rear side exit tips, a subwoofer box with two 12" subs, 32" tires, spray on bed liner, and more.  Hope you guys are able to offer lots of advice and help!

Name is Kevin.  I just brought home an 85 2WD 1/2 Ton. Read all about it here. for $800 I couldn't pass it up. Just moved into a new place that needs lots of landscaping so it will be for runs to the dump, Lowe's and the landscape suppply lot.

I am 38, married to the best woman ever, and father to 5 and 8 year old daughters. I am a programmer by trade grease monkey for fun. Before getting into IT I worked at wrecking yars in Massacheusets, Oregon, and Florida in the late 80's to mid 90's I live on the west coast of Florida about 40 miles south of Sarasota.

I am partial to diesels. I have a 2003 VW TDI that I have converted to run on used cooking oil, the kit is out at the moment but, I'll be putting a new one in in a month or so.. Would like a pickup to do the same.  I commute about 900 miles a week, so I like cars that run free used cooking oil and get good MPG.

I used to be a VW Diesel nut, but they are getting to darn expensive, and are useless for any real hauling. Recently entered the GM world, I used to own a 63 GMC Pickup years ago that I paid $50 for, and since have taken a liking to the 73-87 pickups. I find the older 80's GM diesels that were so shunned fascinating.

Hi my name is Larry; currently serving in Iraq but due back home (Valparaiso FL) in early Sept.  You guest it in the military going on 20 yrs, soon to retire I hope.  I spend alot of my time tinkering with old chevy trucks but have recently narrowed it down to just two, 66 C10 framed off w/402BB/400 turbo w/3K stall all original except drivetrain and a new purchase of a 87 Chevy R10 Silverado w/17K original miles that my wife is making a road trip to pick up as I'm typing this so now I have to wait another 60 days before I can drive it.
