My name is Robert. I am 49. I live in Arnaudville, La. I am originally from Alabama and have lived in La for the last 14 years. Married a great little Cajun Gal (my second wife) and I'm here to stay. I have worked in the offshore oil and gas production industry for almost 30 years now. 27 of those years going offshore every week. Now I have an office job and don't have to go offshore anymore.
My truck is a 79 Scottsdale C-20 LWB with a 350 and TH-400 and 3.73 rearend. I drive it daily. I paid $750.00 for it and have started redoing everything on it. It was in pretty good shape body wise although it had been hit a little bit in the right front corner. So far I have rebuilt the engine, cleaned and painted the engine bay, redid the AC ,(very important in South Louisiana) with the help of the guys in here, repaired all of the rust in the cab and floors and rebuilt the front end. I also swapped the 79 headlight trim to 78 headlight trim. Plus new radiator, wiper moter and starter. Repainted the bumpers and headache rack plus new tires. I recently purchased a 700R4 but I think it's going to have to wait until cooler weather before I swap the TH400 out. The funny thing about these is that there is so much work to do before anyone ever sees anything you've done. Mine still looks pretty sad. A new interior and paint and body work are in the near future.
This is a great site and thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Howdy! My name is Cory. I'm from Bedford, In. I bought a 79 k20 back in March. Its a heap of rust. I'm mainly going to use it to haul wood, but I am also going to slowly work on restoring it. I've already found a wealth of info on this forum. Better than any other forums so far.
Thanks!

Hi everyone. I'm new.....I'm also Canadian. I am from Edmonton Alberta area and what can I say...I love everything about the older chev/gm trucks. I own a few. I am a certified auto tech and work at local gm dealership so if you have any tech questions hit me up. I have been happily married for 14 years and blessed with twin 12 year old boys. I am currently working on a early 87 shortbox bigblock project and I find all you fabrication articles very helpful. Anyway, I figured I would introduce myself.

I am Jay. Live in Texas but grew up in Ohio. Looking for my ideal 1973-87 shortbed. I would have had it this month if I hadn't had to pay a $650 bill but there are others out there. I like to add factory options to my vehicles that it didn't have or never could have had.
I currently have a 1991 S10 Blazer 4x4 that is my winter driver and a 1995 Olds Silhouette set to receive a Supercharged 3800 V6. Both have been retrofitted with options like Homelink, retained accessory power, factory alarm, factory CD and express down windows.
My 1973-87 will end up being a black shortbed fleetside with a 350 TPI, black or dark gray interior, 1973-74 front end (my favorite), all the usual options such as A/C, tilt, cruise, power windows, power locks and intermittent wipers. However my truck will have more than most 2011 trucks using GM parts, such as:
CD
tach and gauges from a big truck with a vacuum gauge
electric speedo with trip
overhead console with map lights and Homelink
newer "key in and headlights on" chime module with automatic locks - doors will lock at 9 MPH -
power side mirrors - hopefully I can fit some that are heated, auto dimming with turn signal and possibly power folding
keyless entry with alarm
automatic climate control with outside temp
auto-dimming rear view mirror
Syclone/Typhoon steering wheel
retained accessory power
rear defogger
express down windows
And pretty much anything else I can come up with.

I've been on here for a couple of weeks now but just now saw this thread so here it goes!
I'm about to turn 33. I'm married with two boys (3 and 1 year old). I've loved cars and trucks my entire life. My favorite car that I'd like to own at some point is a 1970 Chevelle. My favorite truck is the 73-80 Chevy/GMC trucks. I just love the front ends but when it comes down to it I like all the square bodies from 73-87. I have a '77 Scottsdale C-10 that my dad and I have restored/modded to our liking. It's really become a member of the family as both of my boys absolutely love going for rides in the truck with me and it's really something that I enjoy doing. I'm sure at some point they'll be out there helping me wrench on it as well. I'm sure I'll eventually pass it on to them once I'm too old and they have families of their own. The truck looks stock for the most part but has been pretty heavily modified in ways that most casual observers don't really recognize which I love. Feel free to take a look at my build thread that is in my signature. It shows most of the details of the bodywork and stuff.

Hi, my name is Tristan, currently live in Chesapeake, VA, I'm 25, single, no kids that I'm am aware of. Just recently got my 12th GM truck since I've been driving, I'm a all around car junkie. I've owned a total of 34 vehicles since I've been driving, I've been thru domestic's cars and truck and imports and have decided to go back to where I started which is back to trucks. I have a 2007 Silverado that is my daily and just aquired a 1986 GMC High Sierra 2wd with a solid built 350 which I will be giving to my father for Christmas, I plan on finding another 73-87 for my next build and will start the build thread as soon as I find it. Talk to you all soon.

Hello, I´m Fred from the Stockholm area in Sweden. I recently bought a 1977 c20. It´s rusted out in the usual areas, such as floor boards and front fenders. I´m planning to fix the truck up little by little, starting out with the worst rust damage. The truck will be used for hauling stuff, including my 1978 camaro when I go bracket racing. I also own a 1971 Corvette.
