Checking back in
« on: May 10, 2007, 06:24:29 am »
Been offline for over a week from the move. getting settled in. Would have been only a few days but Verizon in their infinite wisdom shut the phone off three days to early but couldn't be bothered to turn it on three days early at the new house. then when I complained they went to the old house 3 times to look at the problem. The third tech. had a brain and realized they were sending him to the wrong address. So I didn't get the phone until last Tues. By then the dsl turn on date had passed and they said they didn't get a signal so the turned it back off or something. So it was supposed to turned on yesterday morning. Last night still no internet! called and freaked out until I got a supervisor. She was able to activate something and it worked. I swear they could screw up a free meal.

That sounds like a hassle for sure.  Weird thing is, if you were in Alabama and (Verizon doesn't have phone/DSL here) I would tell you that they were a great company.  I have had Cell service forever and data service for the past 3 years.

I couldn't say enough good about their mobile dept. The service is good most times. Thing I get a kick out of is most times when I am up on some moutain side somewhere working at someones house I can see a cell tower and not get any signal. But their residetial / land line dept. sucks!
Round here you have to be a certain distance from the switch buildingto get DSL.
