76 chevy c20 2wd 350. On the 454 I took out of the truck there was just a line ran down to the hole by the oil filter. There was no oil pressure switch. Well the factory gauge would show at about the half mark first started and about the quarter mark idling warmed up. I hooked this line up to the hole by the distributor on the 350. It shows about the quarter mark when first started and 0 when warmed up and idling. Driving down the road makes it go up a little.
I know the engine doesn't really have 0 oil pressure or the valves would be clattering and engine would be knocking and so on. I looked up on partsamerica website and it shows a oil pressure switch used for the 350 and 454 which has an electric spade on the end.
My question is what is on the truck and what is supposed to be on the truck so I can get it right and have true readings.
