Looking good, however looks like you need to invest in a cover for the Cougar and the bike!

I do have covers for both of them, if it ever stops raining i`m gonna wash the cougar and cover it, same goes for the bike as well.. Or just a simple blowdown of the blowgun will work too
.. But your right they need to be covered.Right now my back yard is pretty much a pond and i cant get to the garage till probably morning..
thanks
pat
UPDATE!!!
After the last reply from 78BBSTEPSIDE i went outside for about a hour n a 1/2, i took my hood out from that corner for the 1st time since summer of 07 and got it on the fender stand, swept the entire shop, put away all my tools, straightened out that corner where the hood was, moved them 8 bags of red mulch, covered the covertible, moved the truck, swept under it, put it back and put some parts away. Thanks 78 for giving me a swift kick in the butt for the motivation to clean up the shop even though it was almost 2 in the morning lol...
I feel better now its more cleaned up and the hood is ready for its day to be worked on......

Hey whats up everyone.
Well i had a rough day at the office and i came home and put my stuff away and went outside in the garage at 3:30 am and didnt come out till almost 8am .I been working on the hood here.I got the entire hood done as 1 corner i had to chop casue of a kink in the metal.I cut the section i needed and welded it in and it came out real good. The other side had a dent and the metal was stretched so i had to heat it up and shrink it. Got that done and fixed the dents and flipped it over, filled in the goodmark stamping in the hood and a couple of areas from the damage was done before i got it. I only paid 100.00 for that hood 2 years ago. Long story but i traveled 1 day 9 hours total to get this hood.. Well worth it i think..But i got a delievery today. My wheels came in today but to my disgust NO LUGNUTS WTH ...
So i gotta call them and find out where they are.But i am working on the drivers fender and i welded up al lthe holes for the wheel opening mouldings and the holes for the fender emblems.. But I was going to have a shop prime it i think i`m going to do it personally.. I am a painter by trade so why not build a cheap booth and prime it all by myself.. So i`m hoping by this sunday both fenders will be done, i`m going to send the rear fenders, the tailgate, and the front panel and the stone guard panel and the lower panel that goes under the tailgate to get some bodywork done and primed that way all thats left is the bed sides which need to be sandblasted and the body work done...
thanks
pat
p.s. also forgot to mention, i got my gauges i bought from team39763 as well as my parts from exilous and some other pieces from ebay so its sloly comming together i CANT WAIT to get this thing in 1 color instead of it looking like a box of crayola crayons.

Well today i got the drivers fender all done as far as bodywork.. Welded up all the holes and fixed a couple of dents and the bad ripples in the metal.. Fixed all them and now onto the pass fender.I am going to have the bodywork done sooner then i thought... I`ll take some pics tonight (sunday) i may as well take some of the bed pieces out and start working on them... Who knows this truck may be in paint quicker then expected, i guess when your working with good or new sheetmetal it makes a big difference..
thanks

Hi all,
well the fenders are done.I did quite a bit if work on the truck this weekend.Mustve been a good thing that the boss pissed me off to make my blood racing to get things done. But the fenders are done, the hood, the stepside steps, and the lower tailgate panel are all done.I got the bedsides, the fenders, rollpan and the front panel and the tailgate left.. I`ll try n post some pics and im getting happy this is winding down...
thanks
pat
UPDATE!!!!!!!! After pulling out the tailgate and the front bed panel out of is sitting place i decided in my best interest to spend the money for these 2 pieces. I realized the tailgate has quite a bit of work needed as well as holes that need to be welded then the whole thing sandblasted and bodywork done. I also seen the amount of work needed on the front bed panel and i`m going to chuck these and start fresh.. So all thats left will be the bed sides and the fenders and the rollpan... Its easier to replace then it is to try n do all the small areas that need attention..

Whats goin on everyone....
Well today i made some more serious progress on the truck. I mentioned in a eariler post i threw out the tailgate and the front bed panel to make way for a new set of parts to come next week.I`m going to order them possibly tomorrow. But i been working on the bed sides all day today.I got the 1 stake pocket removed,as you can see why in the 1st picture. Also i welded up the areas where the stake pockets and cut out a section where the wiring harness came out for the taillights and welded up new metal.I also welded up the holes where the taillight plates bolted to in the rear stake pockets and 2 areas where the top of the bed curled and welded to the stake pockets, i had to weld up 2 of them(1 for the new pocket and 1 cause the wled just broke). But i`m happy that the welding work is comming to a end soon.I just got 1 more area to weld on the rear fenders(remove the gas tank door and inner tub) and weld up a piece of metal and smooth it out as i`m going to run a fuell cell and hide the door in the bed area. And weld up the seat brackets and that`ll complete the welding.. So possibly next month the bodywork will be finished....
thanks
pat
p.s. THEN THE PAINTING PROCESS BEGINS..
Here is why i replaced the 1 front pocket

I did alot of work to these bed sides.I know in a catalog there about 400.00 a side so other then that 1 pocket i replaced there pretty solid.. I`m gonna be happy once this thing is finished.. Should look awesome but i`m also going to be happy once the bodywork is done.
thanks
pat
p.s. the 1st bed we had on the 1st 80 it was so badly rotted i couldnt save any of the pieces except the ones we replaced a while back...I had to go out n find these in a local paper with some other parts for 225.00. I shouldve kept the other parts as they were rust and dent free...I`ll learn the next time IF i ever do another project to hold onto everything till i am done with it...

Hello all,
i been working on it some but i realized im not up to finishing it anymore.I am just to burnt out.I`m handing what i got as far as parts and the truck and haivng my powdercoaters father do the final bodywork and paint itI`m working on 1 of the bedsides and you think you got a good part but its hard to stop after your already 1/2 way into it. But i havent bought the tailgate n front panel yet.Alot has happened since.I got my swimming pool up. We had a evaporator in our cental air unit die as well as the blower motor, then this week our refrigerator died so that needed to be replaced.. So its time i let someone take over. That way theres daily progress being made rather then weekend progress.Since iwork nights its to darn hot here in florida to do any work by the time i get up... So hoping monday i get a call and they can come up and take the parts and do the work...
thanks

Pat, I hear ya man. I've got so many projects going at once I get burnt out too. It's been raining here so much what 21 days out of 24? that I can't get any yard work done. This morning was nice and I was gonna mow the lawn but have no ambition right now. It's good to take a break and tend to other life things and if you can get some help there's nothing wrong with that. My buddy has been helping me with my truck doing the finishing body work but it gets tiresome. Too bad you weren't closer, I could help you with your air handler and your truck lol... Kinda funny how all of my friends who were into these trucks faded away. I have no help 99% of the time with my projects. Good luck you've done an awesome job this far.

Vile,
it really is tough i see you got many projects and i`m working on just 1.. I just spent 1,000 on the bedsides and a front bed panel as the ones i got need just to much work.I am working on the rear bedside fenders and i think i`ll just have enough to do them. But i thank you for your offer if i was closer.I wouldn't put you in that kind of position , your tired like me you got so much in your life going on i couldn't`t just do that to you man.But your a good friend and i appreciate the offer.I am going to take a break once the fenders are done and let the guy take over on the truck..
thanks
pat

I am with you completely. I have so many projects that it gets overwhelming. I am actually trying to get my Grand Prix running and weeks prior it was pouring down rain and lately it hasn't been raining but the humidity has been so high you are pratcially swimming when you walk outside.
