Lowest profile cab lights?
« on: August 01, 2007, 06:22:59 pm »
Doing a resto-mod on an older crew cab and looking for the lowest profile (very thin) cab lights.  Prefer something tinted black, LED maybe.

I have searched and I just can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for.

Pics? Links?

They sell LED ones now. I'd say if you're doing a resto just ditch them and fill the holes.

I have always thought the newer style ones that have one lens for the three center lights would look cool on an older truck.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

I keep thinking about it but that truck is a 1 ton crew cab so I kinda feel like cab lights are appropriate. I just wish I could find something cool that was 1/2" high or less. So far most of them are 1.5 inches or more tall.  This thing is on 37s and already pushes the limit of my garage door.

I've been looking at all sorts of clearance light ideas for an '88 CC dually project I have for a while now. I'm wanting all the clearance lights on the truck to end up being LED-lit.

I have a set of cab lights from an '88-'00 with brand new clear lenses, but I've yet to decide if I really want to use them or not.

I was looking around the net trying to find a good picture of them, but I kind of like the brand new 2007 GMC/Chevy 3500 cab lights. They're similar to the '01-'07 lights in that they're a 3-piece set with the center piece being a wide, 3-light unit, but they're a lower profile than the previous trucks and they're LED-lit. The housings are all black except for a narrow amber strip along the front side. I may have to hit a dealership with my camera someday, but this is the best I found online:

Something else to look at is the dually fender clearance lights of other trucks. They can make good cab lights too. I think this one had the cab lights shaved, but the sidemarker and fender lights appear to be SuperDuty F-350 fender lights.

Same story here. This truck still has the cab lights and the tailgate lights and they also appear to be the F-350 fender lights.

I really like the F-350 lights and they're a very low profile, which would fit your needs.

No problem!

I found an eBay seller selling the F-350 lights with clear lenses. He was selling them in sets of 4 for around $25.
