3/5 drop kit
« on: August 08, 2007, 06:33:09 pm »
Sport truck direct has a econo kit with 3" springs and a flip kit for the rear. What are the advantages of using this kit vs drop spindals which will give me the best ride. Someone close to me says that I will have alignment problems with the spings.

The 3" dropped springs won't ride much differently than stock and the rear flip won't change the ride at all. Be sure to use shock extenders in the back and shorter shocks on the front. Your best bet on an alignment is to shop around first. You will find shops that tell you your truck cant be realigned, if so dont give them your business. Ask local hotrodders and other lowered truck owners, they will tell who is best to deal with.
1984 GMC Sierra. Air Bagged but mostly stock.

Don't get 3" drop springs, if you want it that low, get spindles (or control arms), if it isn't low enough, THEN add springs.

Changing spring will affect the ride since they are shorter.  Spindles won't change the ride at all since you are using your existing springs, it will just lower the truck.
