do you have the stock door handles on the truck? when i restored my suburban i bought new outer handles from   and three of the four doors would not open due to a little extra piece of metal (a manufacturing defect) on the inside of the mechanism that contacted the inside of the door and it stopped it from fully depressing the button and not allowing the door to open.

i just took them off and used a cutoff wheel to trim them.  i hope this helps....it took me a while to figure out what the problem was and it drove me crazy. ???

Is it the lock that is keeping it from working or the handle linkage?  you should be able to pull up on the lock lever with your hand to unlock it.  Is the latch unlatching at all, if so, try lifting on the door when you unlock it.

Do you have the weather stripping installed? Did the door close past the normal position, past the two clicks of the latch mechanism due to no weather stripping. I have had this happen several times and it is a real bear to get the latch to release. Hard telling, but just a thought.

operate the handle a few times from the inside and then from the outside. Then try to turn the door lock cylinder with the key.

Did you get the door open?

We had this happen with one of our work trucks, the lock cylinder was our problem.

Your caps lock key is stuck on too. Maybe that's the whole problem
