84 K5 blazer. 700r4, auto locking hubs. Shift positions are 2hi, 4hi, n, 4 low, there is not a tag on the transfer case. If you can help me thanks in advance

NP208 I would have to guess, aluminum casing?

I did not see any tag anywhere, I will have to double check. Is the np208 the least desirable between the np203, np205 and np208?

The 203 is full time cast case, least desirable because of the full time feature but a good case. The 205 is gear driven heavy duty cast case that most sought after for its strength, and the 208 aluminum housing chain driven which is most common and is also a good case, just not considered as strong as 205 because of aluminum housing and chain drive. Thats my view.
