That looks like a Fey bumper. They are garbage, the one in the pic is bent! I have seen one of them get hit by a bicycle and bend.

Yep I believe that is one of there 8" Drop Models, which has been a good 5-8yrs since all of there Custom Bumpers for our trucks were discontinued....  FEY still makes a Universal Bumper for us, but it is like an OEM piece...  Yes FEY Quality was something to be lacking to say the least, but I have seen some decent stuff more recently....

I had a FEY Chrome step bumper on the back of my truck and I was stopped at the bottom of a mountain when a SNET boom truck came plowing into me. If it wasn't for that FEY bumper my 74 wouldn't be here right now. One other thing about the FEY bumpers you may not be aware of is they have a lifetime warranty... at least they used to anyway. I can't vouch for any other style then the step bumper but I was happy enough with my last one that I put one on my 86 K20

thought i would stick this in here since i dont want to post a new topic but whats the best way to get the back bumper off with only hand tools?  i cranked one of the bolts off of the frame today wrenching on it.  i cant seem to get a wrench to fit onto the nuts that are on the inside of the frame.  what kind of torque would be needed for an impact wrench if i end up buying an air compressor and would a 6 cfm compressor get the bolts off?

Like Capt. said breaker bar, PB Blaster (or weasel pee as Blazin calls it) and if you got anyway to put heat to it always helps.

my gas tank is leaking so i want to avoid a flame.  i have been trying with a breaker bar but its kind of a tight spot back there.  i put some WD40 on it but never heard of that PB blaster will have to look around advance auto for some.

If your tank is leaking and you are replacing it anyway, poke a hole in it, drain out all the gas, flush it out with water. Then just cut the straps, get the tank out of the way and you can put all the heat you want on your bolts.

If advanced doesn't carry it, I know Carquest does.  Some claim it works better, but I don't know.  I have a can of each in the workshop, depends on which smell I'm in the mood for.  I can't really tell a difference when you throw a 18" breaker on it and a BFH.

That last item by the way has been the key to my teardown arsenal.  Get a nice 2 or 3 pounder from Home Depot and use that as your "impact wrench".  I've moved more nuts on my rusted 79 with "manual" impact than with just brute-force pulling.  Less chance of rounding over flats that way too, in my opinion.

Good luck, persist and you'll get it.  Worst case is a sawzall to the nuts if you can get a blade on them, or a dremel cutoff wheel to zip through the vertical face of the nut if you really run out of options.  And get that gas tank fixed, no time like the present.
