steering column swap

OK i ripped apart a 90 burb last week for more parts that i think i need. the tilt steering column has the wipers and cruise and all that stuff in it can i just put the old style blinker switch in it so i can put it in my 80 4door?

I did the same conversion.  You don't have to use the wiper/dimmer switch-turn signal if you don't want to.  If you got the wiring plugs it was pretty easy to do.

Does it need any kind of modification to swap steering columns on your truck? I have an 80 c15, I wanna do the same job, I got no problems with switches and wiring, but I am a little concern about the fact that if it works, and will it fit correctly.
Is there any other year model truck that can be used for the swap....?

to me it all looks the same size and stuff i just didnt know about changing the blinker switch i know some place along the lines GM changed from a splined shaft to a double D shaft with a bolt but if you have the shaft to match the column  its all good for a bolt in.
