Flexplate as in automatic: 153 tooth and 168 tooth.
Or are you talking about flywheel = manual?

Yes I meant flexplate as in automatic.  I know some don't know the difference... I knew there were two as in 153 and 168, but what came stock?  Did it vary? Turbo 350 trans, stock replacement starter..

It depends on the engine's displacement, the trans it's bolting up too and whether or not it's internally balanced.

Thanks,

Also, what direction do I need to go with a balancer?  6 3/4 or 8". FOR a 350 not 400

Bought the truck as a roller.  Piecing together everything I need to install my longblock.  Brackets, pullies, balancer, flexplate etc.

lining up a 300 lb tranny is loads of fun---and those pesky little bolts, you know, the two at the top of the tranny that the firewall likes to get in the way of. fun.  ;D

With the bottom bolts started, you can let the engine/trans down (don't crack the dist cap) and use a long extension and swivle to run in the bolts, then raise it back up and torque them down.

good point.  if not, it is the good ole box wrench while you sit on the engine. slowly, 1/8th of a turn at a time.
