Question for Vile
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:31:00 am »
Cant seem to find the post but I am thinking you said you used to work on Junks, I mean Jeeps. If I had any questions to shoot them your way? Have a plug that comes out of the wire harness from the fuel injection wires trunk also goes to one of the four O2 sensors. It has four wires, 1 black, 1 black w/ yellow stripe, 1 tan w/ white stripe, 1 purple w/ orange stripe. Got a few pics. too.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

It might but this wire is on the drivers side and not even close to long enough to reach behind the coolant reservoir. It runs I drove it about some yesterday. The check engine light is on I am suspecting this might be the cause.

I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them so you can see how to run that wire. I just saw this post now and it's late here. But I'll get that to you asap. What year is that btw?

Its a 2000. I looked but don't seem to see where it plugs into. If I knew that I could figure out how it runs.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to take a pic but it goes behind the power steering pum bracket and down to the oxygen sensor.

One of the 4 oxygen sensors! I will take a look, I could have sworn I pluged all of them in, But you never know. I started it and it wasn't charging when I took a closer look I had forgot to plug the field wires into the altinator. Thanks.

Thats what it was, thanks. Will the codes clear from this by disconecting the battery or do I need to clear it with the scanner?

You need to clear it with the scan tool.

Took it today he cleared two codes, the down stream O2 sensor, and the altinator. I forgot to plug it in until a little ways into my test drive.
