What a dipstick!

Where would I go about finding a new dipstick for a 700R4?  I tried the parts store and they didn't have them/couldn't get them for that specific transmission, just for the 350...

Mine broke...

QUESTION 2:

I haven't really driven this truck much since I got it...  And when I first found the truck and changed the oil before driving it home, a buddy stuck the dipstick in, so I didn't actually see it for myself and it was not mentioned...  When I took the aftermarket chrome Mr.Gasket-lookin' OIL dipstick out for the first time it was broken at the "F"...  I've seen them break at the indent line, but never IN the vehicle...It looked like it had been hit because it was a little warped at the tip-end and had some other gouges in it.  I don't know if it was like that when I got it (like someone stuck an old broken one in there for whatever reason) or if the crank may have actually hit it and broke it off...  Is it possible for the crank to hit an oil dipstick?

I was thinking I might drain the oil and stick a small extending-type of pen-magnet through the drain hole to see if I can perhaps "catch" the other end of the dipstick, assuming it is broken...  I REALLY don't want to drop the pan to see if it's in there, but I don't know that there's much if any other option.

There's a little too much fluid in my transmission -- what's the EASIEST way of getting that extra fluid out?

I was thinking I might take it to an OIL DROP or somewhere that changes oil and see if they had some special pump or syphon where they may be able to suck the extra out the dipstick -- is that even possible/plausible?  Again, I REALLY don't want to have to drain it if there's another way...

Take a line loose at the radiator.  Put the line in a coffee can or something. Turn the engine on for about three seconds. Clean up the mess and put the line back on radiator.

Yeah Most Dippy Lubes/Etc will do exactly that, they stick a hose down the tube, and pump the old fluid out, then just refill....  They will charge ya $50+ their Shop and Hazzardous Waste Disposal, but they wouldn't have even swapped out the old dirty filter   Some of the dump shops around here, will just lightly filter the Old Fluid so long as it's not burnt(Sometimes even then), and they would reuse it on the next smuck, charging them the New Clean Fluid Prices....

You can pick up a small hand pump from most Parts Stores, then pump the old fluid into old jugs, so it can be taken safely to a Hazzardous Waste Disposal drop off...  Just be sure to replace the old filter before refilling with fresh fluid.....

The last time I dropped the pan I had to get someone to come help me get it back on (granted, that was 18 years ago).  Seems like we had to put a jack under somewhere (tranny or front of engine) to get the lip on the front of the pan to come free or go back on, don't remember which.  To be honest, I don't remember exactly what I had to do, but I do remember it was a giant hassle -- which I guess makes me scared to do it...

I was about to order my 700R4 dipstick and thought I should ask if it matters whether the dipstick is for a 2wd or a 4wd, or if they are exactly the same?

I just wanted to let you guys know that I took the, uh...mini van     to get the oil changed yesterday.  While I was there I asked them about removing about a quart of fluid from my overfilled 700-R4 the the K5.  They told me to bring it on down and they'd do it free of charge.

I took the K5 down there, we let it cool down for about 10 minutes, then he sucked the fluid out for me.  He didn't charge me a dime and wouldn't take my money no matter how hard I tried to give it to him.  Gives me hope in humanity.
