Thank you :)  Well I guess I can tell you guys a little more about me, since I will probably be staying on here for a while! I'm 21 I'm married and this August or September I will be leaving for the Air Force where I plan on doing some sort of mechanic job.

No, I haven't got to go to MEPS yet. leaning towards Aerospace propulsion (jet engine mechanic) I have all my MOS #'s down on paper and making sure I have the ones I want. No open general for me! lol

how do you know you will leave in aug or sept if you havent been to meps? They usually figure out your boot camp date based on what MOS' are available.

That's really cool that you're joining up, but your recruiter is just a uniformed salesman. You won't know what you have until you get your orders, and the recruiter has no say in that. Reminds me of this one guy that's really me that finished basic and then got to go door to door in El Paso TX collecting toys for needy kids (Operation Santa Clause) for 8 weeks waiting for enough people to show up to start the next AIT class. It was a great experience but it made me miss other appointments that the recruiter promised and ultimately couldn't deliver. Good luck to you Phil

edit: Also, I agree that you should go with at least 33's, and a taller tire under most circumstances will improve your mileage.

Give a man a gun, and he might rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he might rob the world.

I dont know about AF, but the MOS on paper in the USMC is what you get. but you cant pick a MOS until after the ASVAB. What a poolee picks for a MOS determines when his ship date is.

mos selection becomes very limited after you're in so pick one beforehand if you have the oppurtunity.

About the 33's I know I may be pushing my 10 bolts to the limit but I found some 38s for 100$!! I won't be wheeling them hardcore just a few trips to the hills every couple months
