6.2 sending unit help

swapping a diesel sending unit in for my truck, any idea where this ground wire for the sending unit on the inside of the tank goes? old unit was gas so it is different.

Not a ground wire, per se. It connects to a water-in-fuel switch (missing from the pictured assembly) that completes the ground circuit for a "Water in Fuel" warning light on the dash.
