Exhaust System for New Engine

I am going to have a new engine and will install headers. I will need a new exhaust system and was wonder what you all thought of the forums store exhaust system; 75 - 87 X-Pipe Stainless Exhaust it is a 2.5" that runs under the transmission cross member instead of through. Would a 3" system be better or needed?

The Pypes Exhaust we offer won't work on a 4x4 it is 4x2 ONLY.

I keep hoping a 4x4 will materialize as well...

Not from Pypes, to many trans configurations changes with the crossmember.

Thanks for the info. I will have to cut my exhaust, install the headers I am getting, and put on new exhaust pipes or have an exhaust place do it. I would be very loud driving my truck with just headers.

I have a kit here at my house if you want to look at it, but it looks like this laid out (minus the J pipe):

What is the purpose of that J pipe?

That pictured kit was hacked to go on my twin Turbo truck and I ordered some extra piping for it
