Description: This is a photo of my 1977 Chevy C-10 Big10 Factory 454 pickup that I had just bought from a customer back around 1986. It had a bad timing chain when I bought it and didn't run.
This was my second vehicle. My first truck was a 1974 Chevy Cheyenne Super LWB, Reddish Orange color.
This truck was ordered with the 454, 400 turbo, 4.11 posi. It had a/c, p/s, am radio, and that was about it! I decided to pull the engine and rebuild it. Had the heads reworked, and installed a better torque cam.
It was a blast to drive. (except for the 6-8 mpg!) Drove it through high school. When I graduated, I was hauling a car to the Chevy dealer one day, and they had a new 1988 Chevy truck parked out front that they had customized. I had to have it! Put a for sale sign on my truck and sold it before the weekend. Loved the new truck, but missed the old one.
That is why when I found the 1978 that I have now, I HAD to get it!
Wish I had taken some more picture of my rides back then! Just wasn't that important back then.
