Opening weekend at the sand dunes in Michigan.
-
couple more ;D

Red short bed is sweet. Black & red K5 would be allot nicer without the big wheels!

x2. Exactly what I was thinking.

That totally reminds me of Lake McConaughey in Ogallala, NE. We camp there every other weekend in the summer.
Tons of soft, white sand + Heavy Trucks = Playtime!
My favorite is when people come in with 5th Wheel campers and tires air'd to 80 psi... Good luck in the sand with that!
Here's a couple of pics I have from years past:
-
Oops... Here's the pics!
-
Sweet!
-
Wow is that last pic of lake mcconaughey? It looks just like a section of sl sand dunes.
-
Yep, that's McConaughey. We have a small cabin in the trees just in the background of that pic.
I don't know who's truck that is. We saw it stuck and stopped to take a picture. Looked like 35+ MTRs and, as you can see, it sunk deep!

I'd take it the way it is. I would love to find a 89/91 K5 that clean. I could always change the rims.

That last picture you posted is from silver lake. That is a friend of mine's truck from the sheer madness off road group as shown on his window sticker. These are picture taken from their group off another forum I am a member on. As you can see, the last pic is the same one as you posted.

There's something missing in that second picture...can't quite figure out what though ???
But seriously, how did he manage to lose a tire?
-
never seen that one gm Sank + no tire in mud
-
There is no mud, all sand. Most people air down to about 8-12 psi to drive out there, it's easy to pull a tire off the rim, that was not the only one that came off. I would still like to see pictures of the cabin behind the trees? I bet the Michigan dnr would notice if someone built a house on a state park ;)
-
We pulled a tire outside bead past the inside edge of a rim one time pulling my buddy's 81 shortbed F150 out of a water hole similar to that one except it was mud under the water.
-
Ow i didn't know that ;D

Dang, I guess you're right! Sorry for the confusion, I am getting old.... I have a whole slew of "stuck" photos in my Lake Mac folder, I just grabbed that one because it was a Chevy. Apparently I forgot that I nabbed it online somewhere. Oops. No hard feelings to the Sheer Madness guy?
Anyways, Yes there is a cabin in the trees. And, YES, it is on state park land. We own the cabin and the state owns the land. Hard to tell from this second pic but there are twelve houses on that road that curves around the bay.
Plus, some more sand-stuck pics for good measure. These, I assure you DuneDigger, are from Mac. ;)

No flags there I see. I spend enough time at silver lake state park that I can tell just about any picture that is from there. Not to many places look like those dunes and you almost never see a front mounted flag anywhere else.
