Picked this up today, got it for very very cheap. It’s a an '88 5.7tbi, with a freshly rebuilt 700R4. The previous owner said it cuts out at traffic lights etc, but I had absolutely no trouble with it today, ran like a dream. The backs so low to the ground because it came with a ton of spares, including a replacement interior with brand new carpet still in the packaging. Brand new front fenders and inner fenders and loads of other bits.
I’m not entirely sure I like the tail lights, but i have a set of spare originals. I’ve also got an 89-91 front panel and grill in my garage which I’ll prob put on... It also has 35 inch tyres (but no lift ::) ), but I think I’m going to replace them with original tyres on a set of Rally wheels I also have in the garage. Its going to be my daily driver and those tyres eat the fuel!!!
It needs body work, and has rust in some of the usual places, but the rockers are fine, and so is round the windshield.
Really happy with it so far.

Tail lights and door steps need to go, IMO...
But it is a great find!
-
With you on that!!! The steps look AWFUL.....!!! They’re handy for my lazy dog though ;D But they will be coming off. Just can’t wait to start sorting it out.... just wish I’d bought it at the beginning of the summer!!!
-
I kinda like the lights...they don't stand out as much as the chrome ones. Nice Blazer though.
-
Ya they dont stand out as much, but they are rice...
-
She's a beauty.
A question, did the European C/K trucks come with red/amber taillights like the 1991-94 S10 Blazers?

I like rice, brown rice or pork fried rice, and even carbon fiber rice.

No, in the UK usually what was done was an orange bulb was put into what would be your reversing lights. Then below the bumper would be a white light (the new reversing light), and also a red light for the rear fog which is a legal requirement here (You can see them in the 3rd picture just to the right of the exhaust). I’ve no idea what they do in Europe.
My C20 pick up is different though, it has the indicators mounted in the bumper.
The rear lights are quite Ricey - as the phrase goes ‘Lexus lights start fights'
-
I agree, IMO the "euro lights only look good on bikes"

Cool, I have a new idea to go with. :D Thanks!

Removed the front bull bars, think it looks much cleaner now. Also took those horrible side steps off. Got rid of those ‘ricey’ tail lights too....

Very Clean!!
-
Much better with those stock lights and no brush guard.
-
wow i didnt know that 35s would actualy fit with no lift! does it rub?
-
It hasn't rubbed so far, but they're coming off in favour of some smaller tyres. Thinking about a set of BF Goodrich, All Terrains, in size 31x10.5x15s.....
-
Couple of updates on the wheels front, put some Rally wheels on with some old dayvan tyres my friend lent me, it looked truly terrible (http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t253/dobbeuse2001/IMG_0201.jpg)
Got my spacers
(http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t253/dobbeuse2001/IMG_0211.jpg)
And my 31x105x15s.... think it looks pretty good now

After seeing the first pics, the A/T look too small!

Yeah but if I'd kept em I'd have gone silly, raised it, different (wider) wheels, different axles....
I kind of wanna keep it a bit OEM looking.
-
Did you at least keep the 35's for special occasions?
Good looking machine. I would ditch the silverado badge on the ds quarter though.
-
Looks Good!
-
looks great!
-
why did you get wheel spacers?
-
Got the spacers for the back axle only, as it’s a lot narrower than the front. They’re 2 inch spacers either side.
Sold the 35s, they paid for the 31s pretty much. I wouldn’t need them really, and without a lift on those 8 inch wide wheels they just look like tractor wheels.
I’m going to get some welding done on the body, there’s rust at the front of the quarter panels on both sides. When I get that done I’m gonna get the silverado badges removed. There’s rust behind the badges on each side. Think that’s why a previous owner has stuck a ‘Silverado 10’ fender badge on the left hand side, in order to cover up the rust.
-
they should balance it out good then, the rears always tuck in more then the fronts and I hate that. LOl good fix though space out the back ones.
-
Got some of the welding sorted on my rear quarters, still need to get the repair panels for behind the rear arches. Here’s some pics anyways....

great job on the body work, pretty soon you will have it done.
-
Thanks... It's getting there. Still need to decide on a color!! Thinking dark metallic blue. 8)

Got sick of looking at that aftermarket grill, so gave my OEM grill a tidy up. Painted the plastic parts silver and polished up the chrome parts. Small update but thought I'd post it. I much much prefer it...(http://184.72.239.143/mu/560b6b10-95b1-6fb5.jpg)
