Ive got an 84 chevy 3/4 ton truck. Needs new tires badly. But it has the 16.5 rims on it a real pain to find tires for.I want 15" because there less hassle to find tires for and I can get a sweet deal in some BFGs for it. Can a 15" 8 bolt rim fit this truck without too much trouble or should I just suck it up and buy the other size.

We used to run 8 lug 15 inch rims on a sportsman circle track in back, don't know if they would clear the caliper in front unless the offset was right. Before disc brakes I use to see them on the 60-66 K20's...

Pretty sure the calipers would not clear. Consider later model wheel/tire take offs.

Yeah good idea, those dont look to bad on the old style truck either. Thanks guys

They work, but you have to shave the calipers a bit.

Why not go with a set of 16" rims.

I have talked to quite a few of older chevy mud boggers and they told me the same as carnage said. the only reason they did it then was due to there was more of a tire selection on 15" then not the case nowadays.
