The ranger i trader i had about 800 in it so. I think i made out good. The chevy has 6"

Welcome to the site from California. Nice starting point for a truck, what are your plans for the truck ? Are you going to drive it the way it is or do you have plans for modifications.

there in good shape

That pic at the hanger, that spring is bent and needs to be replaced. There is no way to fix that unless you take it to a spring shop and they will tell you (if they are any good) that it has to be replaced. That is most of your flexing problem.
Why in the world would the PO cut the springs like that, it has no advantages, only dis advantages. I would guess that is why it bent at the hanger the way it did.
I am sorry to say, you would do yourself a favor and save a lot of headaches by getting different springs, do not need to be new ones, but different for sure.

You have to be a little more specific, are you saying that granny gear and 1st gear have power, but when you go into 2nd and 3rd gear you have no power, or it is sluggish or what ?
