I'm changing from a 250 with a 3speed manual to a 327 with a 350 auto in an 80 c10. is it a straight bolt in and which length tailstock do I need ? thanks, Stu

a little help with translation, by tail stock you talking about the driveshaft or driveshaft yoke or you talking about the transmissions outputshaft length?

Sorry about the terminology ,I'm referring to the transmission output shaft length. Thanks, Stu

the output shaft doesnt matter you just need the proper length drive shaft to fit. you also might need a new cross member from the th350. is this coming out of a truck or car

Irish.... My truck is a1980 c10. I have the 327 already, but don't have the tranny yet. I was hoping to use the same two piece driveshaft that is in the truck and purchase a transmission that fits. Thanks for your help . Stu

If you still have the driveshaft from the 3 speed manual, assuming originally a 3 speed on the column, a short tailshaft TH350 will work.

zieg, whats the size on the 3 speed? this is different than the 465 right?

Thanks for the info guys. The truck is original right now with the 3 on the tree, so I'll be looking for a short tail TH350 . Hopefully all goes right.
