Looks like a York AC compressor. Must have aftermarket AC...What are your plans for this beast?

Your right, it is a York compressor.  Im really not sure what direction to go with it.  I like the lowered look, hence my '90 SWB.  Finding lowering components for a 3/4 ton on a quick search didnt bring much to choose from.
Definites-Get the rust fixed.  New paint.  New rims and tires-these will depend on if it gets lowered or not.

Put a new set of plugs in the '77 today, it runs soooooo much better :)  2 of the old plugs were completely fouled out.  Gonna take the carb off tomorrow and take it to work on monday and get a rebuild kit for it.  It is leaking fuel onto the intake.  Then comes an oil change.  Then onto checking the brakes.

A few cold beers and working on an old chevy truck on a warm saturday afternoon, what more can you ask for  ;D

Had some help taking the carb off, it was alot easier for my son to get in the engine compartment than it was for me to lean over the core support :)

A little bit after that, he was bored, so he played with my pen magnet by picking up all my tools that i had out  ;)

Pssssshhh Yeah Ofcourse ;D  I did that with my Father(Both in the Engine Compartment) on our old '70 K-20 Suburban when I was 8 or 9, and relived the memory when I was 17 or 18, with his '76 C-20 8ft Silverado.  Oddly enough, him being 6'1" older, and me being 6'4", we were able to climb in and pull the hood down when it started to rain or snow :D

Got the rebuilt carb put back on and she fired up on the first try  :)
Need to do some adjusting on it to get it right.  Any ideas on which way to go with adjusting the carb?
It idles kinda high, but once it warms up, its starts to idle a little rough.
Thanks for any help, here's a video of it running.

I would set the timing to about 8 degrees, set the mixture screws 2 turns out and put a vacuum gauge on it and adjust it for the highest vacuum reading.  Adjusting timing and idle speed accordingly.  It should idle around 750rpms

The vacuum gauge trick works every time. It does sound like you need to adjust the idle screw (the video was cool, really helped us tune in to your truck!)

Your timing sounds retarded.

Had a little time today to work on the '77 after putting cv axles in my daily driver honda this morning. Captkaos, took your advice,  set timing to 8 degrees and got the idle between 760-800 rpms, she sounds pretty good idling now.  Still has some popping when you let off the throttle, but is alot better than it was. Could just be the 15 year old exhaust system.  Check out this latest video.

Well, havent had much time to work on the '77 because of weather and work and becaue i had 2 trucks.  Sold my red '90 swb last weekend :( hated to see it go, but i didnt need 2 trucks and it was sold to a good friend of mine so i know it will be taken care of.  Now i got some funds to put into the '77.  Gonna start with the front and rear brakes-lines, shoes, etc.  Needs rear axle seals.  Tried to start it today and it was a no go :(  Gonna pick up a fuel pump this week.  Once i get it road worthy its heading to the exhuast shop.  Found a friend who has a friend that will put dual 2 1/2 inch pipe with a set of super 40 Flowmasters from around $200-$300 depending on how much work is involved.  I thought that was a pretty good price.  Will get more pics up when the work begins.

Its a good price depending on the quality of the pipe they use..I paid $200 to have the exhaust put on the '84 about a year before I gave it to my dad, but I bought the mufflers separately. It was turned out in front of the rear wheels, dual 2.5" pipes with hollowed out used cats, attatched to my current down pipes, with angle cut driveshafts for tips. The pipe was pretty thick aluminized tubing.

yea, i'm about to get exhaust ran on my '83, using Flowmaster 40's and pipe turned out in front of the rear wheels.  i was quoted about $250...hopefully the shop sticks to their price...it's been a few months...i need to stop by there but i never have time, with my new work schedule.  gonna be even trickier to get the truck there for them TO work on it...might have to let the g/f drive the truck...OH NO!!!!  hahahaha

I had my exhaust done  with daul flos  exit behind rear wheels. they replaced both exhaust manifold gaskets and a missing bolt for 320.  no emmisions on mine they were previously removed by my dad 8)

Got the new fuel pump put on and had to get a new choke pull-off.  Got that done today and it runs somewhat good.  Had to bump the idle up a little more.  It now has a hesitation/bog when you really step down on it  ??? ???
Just normal driving it does pretty good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Check the plugs, it will give u a good indicator of what´s really going on......that could be lack of fuel, or excessive fuel, check the plugs, I think ur good on the timing.

Your aftermarket A/C looks identical to the one in my 79 LB. Does yours operate off of the fan switch? On mine, you turn the temp to "cold", the heater to off, and then using the blower switch operates the A/C. Kind of a trip, but it works really well.
