Wanted to update this...I bought the white gauge over lays for my Fuel and speedo also bought a new set of white face sunpro gauges and a white face vacuum gauge..And a metal support for them that will replace the cheap plastic one on the original gauge cluster..So the after market will mount to the old cluster..I cut the plastic on the back and solder it together to reconnect the ground..Sine i will no longer be using the factory wires on new gauges and dont want the plastic hanging around...So when im done i will have new gauges and old all mixed in with eachother...Will post a pic later of my hack/chop/solder job on the old cluster

Upcomming, I just finished the module installation last night and my unheated garage was  30 degrees.  It's COLD - Brrrrrrrr.  I ran out of Kerosene for my heater.  I'll take pictures tonight ;)

No biggie.  I wouldn't be out in 30 degree weather with a heater, so you won't hear me complaining..  I was just hoping some one that got one from me (other than me) would post a Project article on the installation.

Well i thought to top of my gauge install i would go to auto toys and buy that metal trim that goes around the din cd player...Ok so 35 bucks later...They sent me a plastic one with no holes in it to mount it And the picture has the metal one in it? So now i have to send it back wait 6-8 weeks for a refund cause they no longer make the metal one..I mean if they new that then why even send it? and this plastic one wont even fit right ..So beware all....

Not bad. I kinda like it and it makes sense to have them next to the stock switch. Just needs some labels.

Well im still lost about them wires....Cant get the fuel gauge to work right...
it looks like i should just have 2 grounds and then a Tan and white...But it moves it past fool..Then if i use a Dark brown wire..That acts like a ground it goes way past empty....Then if i touch the other Dark brown wire against 1 or 2 of the pink wires with black stripes it does the seat belt buzz but dont go off....So thats it...All i need help with is the seat belt and the fuel gauge....And also if i put a black ground wire into the Fuel slot it lights up both my turn singels and My chilton book is crap

can you se the pinouts? if not click on the links

here's what you had

here's what you are putting in.

All you have to do is match up the connector in the picture to be like in the second picture and then you should just plug it in... Take a look at them and compare with what you've got.

redneck do you have a meter? I think you need to just do a few continuity test.

For example, take the coolant sender wire and hook it to one end of your meter, then take the other probe and touch each wire until you find the one that has continuity. Then just put it in the proper pin location in the connector.

That would help kooler....And vile would i be looking for ohms or just volts?
Title: Re: gauges....Again...
Post by: VileZambonie on March 23, 2008, 09:40:40 am
Ohms Ω. Or continuity test if your meter has the function. Most decent ones do and will beep if you short the leads which makes it easier to test. It may have a diode symbol which looks like an arrow with a line. When shorted it should read zero.

Not the seat belt....But i found the wire from the brake light...It was on the junction box on the cross member....A dark brow wire...It was a ground wire coming of a sensor...But i had to run a new Wire from my gas tank cause I found the wire...But the wire was funky looking...Even tho it worked i wanted to replace it...So i slid the bed back and replaced it....But yeat all the lights work.....And the gauges :D

If it's new just return it! Optima's are nice but a lil pricey. You can just get a good AGM battery for less.

I should....Its only got 550 cold  cranking amps....And autozone is o so sure thats the right one

They probably just gave you the cheap group 75 battery. Get the 34DT-DLG Duralast. That's a better autozone battery

Thanks vile...I bought the duralast gold 1000Cranking amps
