Any lowered suburbans out there?
« on: September 28, 2007, 06:39:31 pm »
I have a 90 1/2ton suburban that I am wanting to lower. Please post any pics and info on whos lowering kit you used. I am looking to do 4/6 or 5/7 with 20inch wheels. Are the lowering kits for the trucks different in the rear than the burb?

I've seen a few of them. I love the look personally. I would love to have a lowered square body Sub'. It's got the sexy sexy front end with about six times as much interior room.

Here's some pics of my 73 on 20s with 255/35-20 tires. It was lowered a little by the previous owner, cut front coils & removed the overload spring in the rear, I added 3" Belltech drop spindles & 2" rear shackles.

That looks great!!  How is the ride? I am planning on a 4/6 lowering kit for mine if there is one available with 20 inch wheels. New paint next summer

Rides nice, the 3" spindle give me plenty of suspension travel for a smooth ride, instead of bottoming out like with shorter coils would do. The low profile tires didn't really affect the ride, I can feel the road reflectors & little stuff like that a little more. I'm gonna ad a 1 1/4" sway bar up front & a sway bar in the rear to help it handle even better. I added a 1 1/4" sway bar on my 70 Chevy pick up with the same size tires & wheels & it made it ride a little rougher, but handled like a sports car.  8)
